Brannen-Cooper Silver Flute #404 with 14k Gold Vintage Lafin Head Joint
The flute body, built in 1983, A=442, .014 tubing thickness, with a lower G insert (which is removable, if desired)
This Brannen Cooper Flute is a rare find. With it’s early serial number combined with an earlier J.R. Lafin 14k Head – notably *without* Adler on the lip plate – It is vintage + vintage = beauty A warm, deep and focussed core to the sound with extremely rapid articulation and brilliant consistency in all three 3 + registers. A truly gorgeous instrument!
The 14k J.R. Lafin head joint has no dings, dents or scratches, but has some slight ripples in the tube in the area of the head cork (which in no way affects the sound). The Brannen Cooper body is in perfect condition, with no dings, dents or scratches. Some tarnish, but no pitting.
Just serviced with a Clean/Oil/Adjust by Anne Pollack/Your Flute Works, the Straubinger Pads are in good, used condition and won’t need to be changed in the foreseeable future.
